I hosted the Ghana Careers conference, which supports professionals looking to relocate to Ghana. The event brought senior returnees including CEOs and Directors to share their perspectives on how to move back to Ghana successfully.

My approach to hosting this event was to ensure that people were able to be authentic. Talk about their hopes & fears when thinking about moving to Ghana. So I replayed to them in my opening speech a typical day of their life in London.

Without saying a word, I played the most annoying alarm sound I could find on my phone and said "6 am the alarm goes off, you stick your toe outside your duvet and it recoils back under the covers like a spring as the cold air freezes your toe. Yes you are indeed in London and winter is once again here."

As I compared a typical rainy Monday morning in London vs the hot, and more comfortable paced Ghana, I could see I had the crowd in my hand. The reasons why they booked tickets to the event months ago came flooding back. Head tilted left, people sat forwards in their chair. They were ready to get every piece of advice they could get their hands on.
