ML-Q Curates EY UK’s Black History Month
Attendees: 190
Role: Event Curation, Speaker Selection and Hosting of the event
I felt honoured to be hand-picked by EY to curate their Black History Month Event.
Collaborating closely with EY's Diversity team, I tackled the challenge of initiating meaningful conversations, dispelling persistent misconceptions, and highlighting the value of diversity and true inclusion. As a consulting firm that is focused on advancing economies, I suggested a lecture topic of What Africa contributed to the Global Technology, which was well received.
To deliver this powerful message, I enlisted the expertise of Robin Walker, a renowned author and member of the African Union Historical team. His insights highlighted the advanced mathematics, medical knowledge, astronomy, and the use of binary codes which influenced the modern algorithms in Europe. Mr Walker debunked these myths and showcased the remarkable contributions of Africans to global advancement.
As a result, we drew an impressive turnout, including senior partners, making it one of EY's most attended events to date. Let me bring this same level of expertise and engagement to your next event!
