Commonwealth Awards with Duke of Sussex
Location: London
Attendees: 250 People
VIPs: Duke of Sussex & Baroness Scotland
As a host and master of ceremonies you can never really gauge how well you performed. After an event it is so common for the audience to tell you what you want to hear.
One tell-tell sign is if you get invited back. After hosting the Commonwealth Youth Awards in London, and despite people saying that they enjoyed it and the energy was infectious, I just kept thinking about the things that could have gone better. A few months later I got an email asking for my co - host @BisiAtkins to come back for a special VVIP event to celebrate change makers across the commonwealth. That special VVIP was The Duke of Sussex, formerly known as Prince Harry. I guess I can say that the preparation and paid off. I am looking forward working with the @commonwealth in the future
The critical lesson is don’t doubt your talent.
“Michael knows what energy is needed to get an audience excited but most importantly to care about why people gathered. His personal anecdotes, humour and empathy made all finalist feel special and proud of their work!“
